  13. This ZIP file contains ATI's 2.08 release of a software MPEG driver 
  14. designed for the mach64-based graphics accelerator products for use under 
  15. Windows 95.

  17.   ->>  Prior to installing the software MPEG, WINDOWS 95 MUST   <<-
  18.   ->>  BE CONFIGURED for the mach64 2.08 display drivers.       <<-

  22. 2.0     System Requirements
  23.  
  24. While this application will run on most systems, ATI recommends a minimum 
  25. of a P5-75 with 8MB of RAM and PCI-bus for good quality playback of MPEG 
  26. videos.
  27.  
  28. This product requires a mach64 PCI or VLB graphics accelerator. ISA cards 
  29. and VLB cards with the aperture disabled are not recommended for MPEG 
  30. playback.
  31.  
  32. Windows 95 must be configured with the 2.08 mach64 display driver before 
  33. installing the software MPEG Player.
  34.  
  35. NOTE: If you have download the ATI mach64 2.08 display drivers, DO NOT 
  36. UNZIP THE FILE to the directory containing the ATI Player.  A new 
  37. temporary directory must be created e.g. C:\ATIWIN95.

  41. 3.0     Installation Notes
  42.  
  43. 1. Ensure that you have a copy of PKUNZIP.EXE 2.04G.  PKUNZIP is available 
  44. on most BBS and information services, including the ATI BBS and 
  45. CompuServe.
  46.  
  47. 2. Start Windows 95. 
  48.  
  49. 4. Start a MS DOS prompt.
  50.  
  51. 5. Unzip 64MPG208.ZIP into a temporary directory on your hard disk.  For 
  52. example:
  53.  
  54. MD \ATIMPEG
  55. PKUNZIP 64MPG208.ZIP \ATIMPEG
  56.  
  57. 6. Exit the MS DOS prompt, and return to the Windows 95 desktop.
  58.  
  59. 7. Select Run from the Start icon. 
  60.  
  61. 8. Type C:\ATIMPEG\SETUP.EXE in the text entry area. Press OK.
  62.  
  63. 9. Follow the screen instructions to completion.
  64.  
  65. ->> Where the instructions refer to A:\, replace it with the     <<-
  66. ->> directory containing the downloaded drivers e.g. C:\ATIWIN95.<<-  
  67.  
  68. 10. Windows 95 MUST BE RESTARTED FOR THE MPEG PLAYER TO WORK.

  70. 11. Once the driver has been installed, you can delete the contents of the 
  71. temporary directory (DEL \ATIMPEG\*.*) and delete the directory itself 
  72. (RD \ATIMPEG).

  74. 12. We recommend that you keep a copy of the ZIP file, 64MPG208.ZIP, in 
  75. case you need to install the player again.
